NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

I was sent a NYC Liquid Lipshine in my Holiday VoxBox from Influenster to test out and I just wanted to write a quick little blog on it. I had never tried this product before now, but let me just tell you that I should have. I haven’t been really wearing a lot of lip products lately (I usually wear my lips bare with a little bit of balm) and this product has changed that. First of all I fell in love with the color they sent me (Nude York City). This is the perfect nude color because it gives your lips a nude shine without making you look dead from overly pale lips. It has just enough of a tint in it to keep your lips looking full and healthy. I was also impressed by the staying power of this lip gloss. It is a little thick, which is a good thing because it makes the product cling to your lips longer, but it is not sticky at all. I also like the gloss because it doesn’t just sit on my lips; it actually moisturizes them due to the presence of vitamin E in the formula. The applicator is also awesome because it is flat on the sides so it allows for a smooth and even application. This gloss really is a great buy (and a steal at $2.49!) and is available in 10 different shades that can offer anyone a 3 dimensional gloss effect. You can find it at your local CVS, Duane Reade, Walgreens, Walmart, or wherever NYC products are sold or visit them on their website at www.newyorkcolor.com. All in all this is just yet another fantastic product from New York Color (they also make my favorite bronzer).

imPRESS Press On Manicure

I received a complimentary imPRESS manicure set from Broadway nails to test through Influenster’s VoxBox. I applied my set in the pattern Dancing Queen (Zebra print) on Thursday night and I wanted to wait a little while to do a review on them. I know it’s only been two days, but so far I am in love with this product. They were extremely quick and easy to apply. The only slight issue I had is that I was watching something as I applied them and wasn’t paying attention and applied my left thumbnail first, which the instructions tell you to apply the thumbs last. Now I know why, the plastic tabs are MUCH easier to peel off when you don’t have the nail applied to your thumb. I was impressed with how good of a fit they have. The set comes with 24 nails in 12 different sizes, so that makes finding the perfect fit much easier. I have been using my hands normally and they are not lose or anything yet. The best thing about these nails is that they come in 36 colors and patterns (colors retail for $5.99 and patterns for $7.99 at Duane Reade, CVS, Walgreens, etc.). Check them out at www.impressmanicure.com.

My Silence

I realize I haven't blogged in a long time nor have I been keeping up with my daily sketches. I've had a lot going on in my personal life so I simply haven't had the time, but now I am determined to dive back into my art and all the other things I love to do. Anyway, I just wanted to post a quick blog so the only two readers I have could be updated and know that hopefully soon there will be more to come because I am working on a couple of tattoo designs as we speak.

DAY 3: A Sketch A Day

I woke up at 6am this morning because it was way too hot to sleep and for some reason I was in the mood to draw a rosary. Looking back on it now, the cross could definitely be better being I only sleep four hours at most, but I decided to post this anyway to show not every drawing is perfect and even though some have imperfections, the most important thing is to keep going.

DAY 2: A Sketch A Day

So when I sat down today to do my sketch, the first thing that naturally popped into my head was a key to go with the heart lock I drew yesterday. I love old fashioned keys, but have never actually drawn one. Not bad for a first attempt if I may say so myself.

DAY 1: A Sketch A Day

Here's the first sketch that I did yesterday for my first edition of the A Sketch A Day challenge. I didn't get a chance to upload it until now. so sorry for the delay! Look for another sketch later today hopefully.

New Project: A Sketch A Day

I've been wanting to do this for a while, but hadn't had the time with school and all. So being I graduated Tuesday, I've decided that today I will start the a sketch a day challenge inspired by Kat Von D who has been publishing hers on her Twitter account. Although there's no time limit on it, my goal is to successful complete this challenge everyday for at least 30 days. Wish me luck and stay tuned for my sketches! I will definitely post them everyday on Twitter if I don't do it here so follow me there @missa_wicki.
